Psalm of the week: psalm 64
65 he whispered
Sultan Ibrahim Ibn Adham renounced his his kingdom to consecrate himself to God.
One night he was taking his usual walk under the stars around the sacred shrine, the Kaaba. Since the shrine grounds were deserted, he grew bold and walked very close to the Kaaba's door. He whispered:
"My God, guard me and keep me always from disobeying you." Within seconds of his request, a heavenly voice replied:
"Ibrahim, you asked me to guard you always from every disobeying my holy will. ___________________________________

If I granted that request for all my servants how would I ever be able to show them my great mercy. Original source unknown
The psalmist touches upon God's great mercy in this portion of Psalm 65:
"O God, It right for us to praise you . . . and keep our promises to you, because you answer our prayers. People everywhere will come to you on account of their sins, and you forgive them. . . . you do wonderful things to save us.
People all over the world and across the distant seas trust in you. Psalm 65: 1-3, 5-6
