Gene Carmichael, SJ Spiritual exercises of st. Ignatius Day 35: "God and me"
65 just waiting to explode
Roger Bolduc died after a long bout with cancer. He accepted the cancer as a gift from God. Just before his death, he wrote:
"God has become so real to me. I can feel his power--it's always there. I feel loved."
Some time after Roger died, an old priest told a friend. "Some day we're going to realize that God loves as a Father love his child, only infinitely more.
That incredible truth is just waiting to explode in our tiny hearts. When it does, we'll never be the same again.
Why do I find that many find fail to grasp this incredible truth? __________________________________

reflection difficult but attainable Brian Dowling: Aquinas College
In order for Christians to know that God loves them with an infinite love they must experience this love at a personal level.
The difference between knowing that God loves you and being sure that God loves you is the difference between hearing the Word and feeling the Word. And further, to feel the Word of God moving in their lives, Christians must have some knowledge of what that love is like.
Even though this sounds quite complex and perhaps difficult, it is attainable most easily when we have the receptivity of children, the ability to be impressed by the moving Word that breathes love into life.
Prayer Jesus, you will always love me. Help me know my need of this love and my joy when I realize it ___________________________________
